Limited Entry – Closing Date Friday January 31, 2025, or earlier if limit is reached. Entries will be accepted post closing date or day of trial if limit has not been reached.

***The trial start time, order of the levels and lunch break will be determined based on the number of entries
*These are sanctioned events under Canine – Work And Games, LLC. Teams may begin competing in C-WAGS Obedience in Level 1, 2 or 3 or any combination of these levels. Dogs must be registered with C-WAGS to compete. For complete rules go to https://c-wags.org/programs/obedience/
TRIAL LOCATION – 261178 Rge Rd 290, Rocky View County, AB
Go east on Highway 566 (Balzac overpass) 5kms past Costco (Cross Iron Mills) right on RR290 and turn left in 0.5kms at High Tails Pet Resort. Proceed over the cattle gate down the road to our training centre (last building on the right).
Benching outdoors or out of your vehicle. Only 1 dog (or in the case of Level 2 Honor exercise 2 dogs) will be in the training centre at a time. Please be prepared and bring a canopy or shade for you and your dog.
FACILITY
- This is an indoor matted facility. Outdoor benching only. There are washrooms and water onsite. Bring your own lunch or there is Cross Iron Mills Mall only 5km away with a food court as well as Tim Hortons, A& W and McDonald’s nearby.
- Our facility is wheelchair accessible. If you will be entering to run a dog and will be competing in a wheelchair, please let the Trial Secretary know so she can advise the Judges for their course design.
- All dogs must be crated or on leash when not in ring. Any dog engaging in aggressive behaviour will be required to leave.
- Only dogs entered in the trial are allowed in the trial venue
- TRIAL SITE DOES NOT ALLOW THE USE OF CORRECTIVE COLLARS ON SITE INCLUDING THE PARKING LOT. THIS INCLUDES PRONG, PINCH, CHOKE COLLARS AND SHOCK/ELECTRONIC COLLARS.
- ALL CHILDREN UNDER 10 YEARS OLD MUST BE SUPERVISED BY A PARENT NOT COMPETING IN THE TRIALS.
- ANYONE OBSERVED DISCIPLINING THEIR DOG IN A MANNER THAT OFFENDS A JUDGE’S SENSIBILITIES WILL BE EXCUSED AND WILL FORFEIT ENTRY FEES.
ENTRY CONFIRMATIONS
Confirmations will be emailed a week before the trial. You must provide an email address for confirmation. Schedule of events will be included with confirmation.
NOTICE TO COMPETITORS
Competitors, through submission of entry, acknowledge that they are knowledgeable of and will abide by C-WAGS Obedience rules and regulations including, but not limited to, the following rules regarding entry:
- An officiating Judge, Advocate and/or Chairperson of the trial, may dismiss from the trial site any person subjecting the Judge or members of the organizing committee to abuse, whether that person is competing or not.
- All exhibitors are expected to treat judges, advocates, trial hosts, your canine partner and all other exhibitors with respect.
- Any Judge, Advocate and/or Chairperson of the trial, has the authority to excuse/remove any dog or handler from the ring or show grounds due to aggression towards a dog or person. This includes handler-delivered corrections to their dog in or out of the ring
- Trial organizers reserve the right to refuse any entry and if an exhibitor must be asked to leave the show grounds for any reason, they will not be issued a refund.
- There will be no refunds for entries withdrawn after the closing date, or in the event a dog and/or handler are dismissed from competition, regardless of the reason for such dismissal. Refunds will be issued for bitches that come into season provided a veterinarian’s certificate is received by the Trial Secretary on or before the date of the trial.
- Dogs and/or handlers with disabilities are allowed and encouraged to compete. Please submit the Modification Form https://c-wags.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Handler_Modification_request.pdf to the trial secretary. The judge will review and has the sole authority to approve o deny all requests for their class. The dog must not show evidence of being in pain or discomfort. The Judge shall excise any dog that does so.
- Handlers, through entry at this event, accept full responsibility for themselves, any action of their dogs and/or children. Any competitor whose dogs and/or children create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behaviour may be asked to leave with no refund of fees.
- All dogs must be penned, crated or on leash when not in the ring. All dogs must be under control when they leave the ring after their run. Any dog engaging in aggressive or out of control behaviour when leaving the ring will be disqualified and/or required to leave the trial site with no refund of fees.
- Exhibitors must keep crate and exercise areas clean. Please pick up after yourself and your dogs.
- Dogs can be shown in a flat buckle collar, snap collar, properly fit martingale collar or plain harness. No choke chains, prong collars, shock collars, no pull harnesses, martingale collars/leads or head halters are allowed. Leashes should be made of fabric or leather and be long enough to provide adequate slack.
- Dogs may run For Exhibition Only. The dog may be handled by a non-family member. Or may be a non-registered team. Scores will not be recorded and placements cannot be earned
