Rally Obedience is a fun dog sport where dogs and their handlers navigate an obedience obstacle course that includes heeling on leash, pivots, sits, downs, stands, stays, heeling past distractions, etc. This sport is a great way to teach your dog obedience skills and even compete in CARO Rally Obedience trials. This class is suitable for dogs who have completed a Puppy Obedience class or a Pet Manners class.

Rally Obedience Course Practice – Drop In Style

Novice Rally O

  • No scheduled dates at this time.

Advanced Rally O

  • No scheduled dates at this time.

Classes are one hour long.

Come out and practice on a competition rally course to prepare for your next trial.  Courses will be CARO Competition Rally courses, set up in the same manner as when competitions are held in our facility.  Sign ups are limited for each course to ensure that each registered handler can have a minimum of 2 runs through the course.   Handlers are welcome to sign up for more than one level on the same night.  These are course practice nights and therefore there is no instruction on skills but a trainer will be present for questions.  There will be a 5 minute walk through at the beginning of each practice hour for the handlers to walk and learn the course.  Only the dog doing the course practice will be allowed in the building, all other dogs will be benched in the owner’s vehicles.

Our Novice Rally Obedience Classes, Advanced Rally Obedience Classes & Fun Matches are taught by Amanda Poluck

Amanda has always had a love for animals.  She started her animal training at 14yrs old, with her horse Dundee.  Dundee and Amanda in the College Rodeo Circuit in Barrel Racing and Pole Bending.  This love of animals continued through out her life, owning a wide variety of different species over the years.  Amanda re-entered the animal sport world after needing to find a job for her crazy Olde English Bulldogge, Riddick.  At that time she found the sport of competitive weight pull. Riddick has earned many weight pull titles, along with regional and national championship medals over the years.   As Riddick aged, she needed to find him a new job, and that is when Riddick and Amanda fell in love with Rally Obedience.
Training a breed not generally known for wanting to work with a Human has presented many challenges and amazing learning experiences for both of them.  Amanda has attended many seminars and classes to improve her obedience training as well as to further her understanding of dog behaviour.   Rally has given Amanda and Riddick an amazing bond and allowed them to try even more new things together. This team now also holds titles in Rally Obedience and CWAGS Obedience and hope to add SDDA Scent detection to this list.  Amanda is currently one of the Training Directors for the Western Canada Pull Club. Along with Riddick she also shares her home with her husband Mickey,  their Cane Corso Ripley,  cat Tony and snake Morpheus.
Amanda is very excited to now add in teaching Rally Obedience at High Tails!  She is looking forward to showing students how fun rally can be, whether they want to be competitive or just have a fun way to build their bond with their dog.
