Now that Brenda is back Copper got his first bath and some new learn’in!

We’ve all been dying to bath Copper because he is so darn cute! Nothing to do with how dirty he gets out here wrestling with other doggies! Brenda had claimed the job, so now that she’s back Copper had his first bath. In all seriousness, it’s great for Copper to get used to be being groomed from as young of an age as possible. This includes nail trims, ear cleaning, bath and blow dry. He did well, except he’ll need some getting used to the blow dryer – that was his least favourite part!
Brenda’s made Copper’s default bahviour to be “sit”. In other words, if Copper isn’t sure what he’s supposed to be doing he simply sits and waits for his instructions. It works great because it gets him focussed and calm. Copper’s attention span is still only about 15 minutes! So we give him lots of breaks to work out the “puppy sillies” when we’re doing a training session. Like a child, as he ages and matures, his attention span will become longer.
“Down” and “stay” are looking great. Walking with a loose leash is coming along and we’re working on some fun tricks! (They’re a secret until I can post some videos!)
