Copper never ceases to amaze us with how fast he learns things!
Brenda and Copper had an awesome session today. She combined many behaviours and demonstrated that Copper really does get it. He’s so excited and eager to please (and also a young pup) that sometimes he doesn’t offer the correct behaviour right away, but if you give him a chance to think, he gets it!
Shake paw was awesome today – jumped up to 90% solid! Check out the video…
It doesn’t take Copper long to learn something new. Brenda started teaching him roll over today. Hilarious! Sometimes his bum gets stuck in the air and prevents him from laying on his side. Sometimes he ends up with froggy legs that makes it tough to roll too. He can get himself on his side but hasn’t quite figured out how to get the momentum to roll right over. I’m sure he’ll figure it out tomorrow ’cause that’s how fast this little guy can learn!
A learning opportunity happened just by accident today too. I was changing out the water bottle on the cooler and Copper was a little hesitant. So Brenda began shaping his behaviour and rewarding him for making contact with it. Not only was it super for for us, but we thought it’s important to discuss this since behaviour shaping activities like this one can easily help fearful dogs overcome their fears. Pretty cool…
