Oranges, Elvis, bones, toys and lots of learning!
Little oranges! Just like little apples! Copper has become quite fond of miniature fruit! Thought it was funny how his beagle nose lead him straight to my orange tree.
Elvis and Copper have been having fantastic play sessions lately. Copper’s gotten so used to how laid back the kitty cats are around here that he may be in for a few surprises one day from non-High Tails Cats!
In among all the toys got to play with today was a giant bone. He looked especially cute chewing it until his eyes were bloodshot!
With all this fun we still made lots of time for work. From the minute Copper leaves his pen he is being asked to practice all the behaviours we’ve been teaching him. He sits at every door. As we walk across the parking lot, he’ll sit if we stop walking. He’s eager to please! Mixing up behaviours really demonstrates his understanding. My favourite thing today was watching Copper’s response when I would ask him to do something. He may not respond immediately so you just wait. It appears like he hasn’t heard you or doesn’t understand. But then he very deliberately does the behaviour you’ve asked. It’s fascinating to witness him actually “thinking”!
His roll over is sloppy and hilarious! He loves it when your hand is near by so he can push off of it and get enough momentum to get back to his feet.
