A slippery, soapy, sweet little beagle melts our hearts in the tub and on the table after a good training session.
If you could imagine Copper on a sugar high, that’s what our training session was like today! His little puppy brain was elsewhere – perhaps dreaming of miniature apples and oranges! Even so, we accomplished some great things. Brenda got to show off the ‘front’ behaviour she taught him the other day and I had yet to see. Pretty cool! This behaviour is helped when calling your dog into you and getting them to focus. It also simply adds to the commands they can respond to in order exercise that brain! As you’ll see, ‘get in’ is starting to look pretty good too.
New today, Brenda taught Copper ‘spin’. He really likes this one. He jumps into it then plants his little bum to wait for his reward. We have yet to make him dizzy!
We ended today with a bath. Copper impressed us with how well he did this time – almost appearing to enjoy it! Well he sure enjoys the attention and positive reinforcement he receives. Shaping Copper’s behaviour in this way is quick, easy and super rewarding.
