At the Novice and Advanced levels, the owner may also choose to give the dog food as a reward. Food may NOT be used as a lure to help the dog complete an exercise. Food rewards must be contained in pockets or hidden treat pouches on the opposite side from the dog and only be present in the owner’s hand in between exercises. Any petting, touching, or feeding that significantly interrupts the flow of performance shall be scored accordingly.
